ASU members at Emirates vote in favour of their new EBA

Emirates staff have voted overwhelmingly to endorse the ASU / ALAEA EBA deal negotiated and recommended by the ASU / ALAEA 's Emirates National Negotiating Team.

 

96% of staff who voted favoured the Agreement, making the EBA one of the strongest supported EBAs negotiated in 2011.

Emirates and the ASU / ALAEA are finalising all documentation to be lodged with Fair Work Australia. Once the EBA has been approved, Emirates staff will be advised of the precise timing of wage increases and back pay they will receive.

ASU members at Emirates won the following improvements to their EBA

  • 3% p.a. pay rise  (up from 2.5% p.a.)
  • Merit pot payments guaranteed (extra wage increases of up to 6% based on performance)
  •  An increase in the maximum redundancy
  • Improvements to TOIL
  • A commitment to review staff travel
  • A union rights clause
  • 3 year expiry of the EBA
