THE ASU is calling for stiffer penalties to curb a 40 per cent increase in air rage incidents caused by alcohol and dysfunctional airports.

The Office of Transport Security said yesterday that there were 461 reports last year, up from 279 in 2008 and 67 in 2007.

It’s time to fix our modern Awards

Members and officials from the Australian Services Union (ASU) and Flight Attendants’ Association of Australia, Domestic / Regional Division (FAAA) hit the ground running in Parliament House in Canberra last week to talk to politicians about the consequences for our members of the modernisation of the Airline Operations Ground Staff Award and the Aircraft Cabin Crew Award.
