The ASU rep’s have been working towards changing the default superannuation fund to an industry super fund, with Australian Super being the preferred choice. Oxfam have the comparison between funds, and are now doing financial and probity checks – we expect to have a final answer by the end of September. Once we have this confirmed, we will hold information sessions for staff about superannuation, choice of super, and how to get the most out of your super. In the meantime, if you have any queries about this please talk to ASU Delegate Yvette Petersen.
Welcome to new ASU rep’s
The ASU team welcomes Yvette Petersen and Brett Long to join the team! We also wish ASU Delegate Martin Wurt and Michael Simon well on their long service leave and look forward to seeing them back at Oxfam at the end of 2007.
Jessica Raschke, ASU Delegate Moves On
The ASU and Oxfam ASU Delegates would like to thank Jessica Raschke, formerly working in DonorLiaison, at Oxfam for her outstanding contribution to workers rights and member rights while working at Oxfam.
Jessica was thrown into many difficult industrial situations and kept calm and focused. Jessica was an excellent contact point for Union members and staff, she attended many delegates meetings and kept them humming smoothly, she distributed information on current issues to staff at Oxfam, helped the ASU enforce the agreement on behalf of Members and negotiated with management without hesitation.
