Your ASU representatives have regular teleconferences to keep up to date with what is going on in all the areas of UCCO, as well as broader union and community issues. Here’s a summary of our recent discussions.

The ASU will conduct meetings for staff to discuss our feedback on the proposed EBA.

Please make every effort to attend the meeting at your office.

On 2nd August the ASU finally received a copy of the proposed draft workplace agreement for staff at Uniting Care Community Options.

We understand that staff have been given 2 weeks to provide feedback before the Agreement will be sent for a pre-lodgement review.

The EBA Consultative Committee met again on 4th July.

We understand that a draft document was provided to the Committee at that time. The ASU also requested a copy of the document, via the staff rep’s to the EBAA, however, the ASU has NOT been provided with a copy, and we understand that it is not the intention of the EBACC to provide us with one.

Following the meetings last week in all offices of UCCO, there was broad agreement by staff on feedback about the “proposal for in principle agreement”. Overwhelmingly, staff were concerned that the negotiations seemed to have stalled. This was communicated to management by the staff rep’s to the EBA CC and we’re pleased to report that the EBA CC met on Friday 29th June.
